Our church was founded in 1949 with the purchase of land and the digging of the basement. It took less
than a year to erect the first building for the church, but it wasn't until 1952 the building at 795 O Street
in Gering was dedicated and the Church constitution was officially ratified. The church was first known as
the First Baptist Church of Gering. In May of 1970 the name was changed to Gering Baptist Church and has remained so
ever since.
In 1988, after much work by the people of the church and the pastor, a new building was dedicated in our current
location at 560 K Street.
